Audit log, backups and keeping your data safe

See who changed what, how your data is protected and backed up, and simple habits that keep your company safe.

Who can do this: The audit log: owners and administrators (TenantAdmin role).

The audit log

Settings → Audit log records every change in your company: when, who, what action and on which record. Entries cannot be edited or deleted.

  1. Open Settings → Audit log. The newest changes are at the top.
  2. To narrow the list, type part of an action in the filter box, for example catalog.product or pos.sale.
  3. Click a row with an arrow to see the values before and after the change.
  4. Press "Load older" to go further back, and "Back to newest" to return.

The Dashboard's "Latest activity" card shows the most recent entries at a glance.

How your data is protected

Your data is stored in the cloud in AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore). Each company's records are kept apart from every other company's by the database itself.

The database keeps a continuous history of changes, so the Sevo team can restore it to an earlier moment if something goes badly wrong. Restores are rehearsed, not just assumed.

Card payments for your plan go through PayHere; Sevo never sees your card number.

Taking copies of your figures

Several reports have an "Export CSV" button that you can open in Excel: Finance → Reports, Finance → Journal and Inventory → Stock valuation. Documents such as invoices and payslips can be printed or saved as PDF.

Good habits

  1. Give every person their own login. Never share one login between staff: the audit log then cannot tell who did what.
  2. Give each person the smallest role that lets them do their job.
  3. When someone leaves, disable their user under Settings → Users on their last day.
  4. Use a strong password and do not write it on the till. For shared registers, use till PINs.
  5. Tick "Remember my e-mail" only on your own devices, and sign out on shared computers.
  6. Set approval limits so large orders, adjustments and refunds need a second person.

If you stop using Sevo

Cancelling pauses the company at the end of the paid period. Your data is not deleted at that moment, and you can come back by choosing a plan.
