Where orders are sent from
Every online order is taken from the stock of one store or warehouse. You must choose it before you can switch on any payment method.
- Open Online shop → Shop settings and select the Delivery and payment tab.
- In Orders are sent from, choose the store or warehouse.
- It saves straight away and shows "Delivery location saved".
Delivery charges
Under Delivery charges you decide how customers receive their order and what it costs. You can have one delivery zone with a charge, several zones, collection from the shop, or a mix.
If you add no options at all, customers pay only for the goods and the checkout does not ask how they want to receive the order.
- Press Add delivery zone, or Add collection from the shop.
- Check the Type: Delivery or Collect from the shop.
- Type the Name customers see, for example "Colombo and suburbs".
- Optionally add One line under it, for example "2-3 working days".
- Type the Charge. Use 0 for free.
- Optionally fill Free when goods total is at least. When the goods total reaches this amount, the charge is waived. Leave it empty to always charge.
- Keep Offered at checkout ticked for options customers can choose.
- Press Save delivery charges. All the rows are saved together, in the order customers will see them.
To stop offering an option for a while, untick Offered at checkout instead of removing it. Press Remove to delete a row, then Save delivery charges.
How customers can pay
Two payment methods can be used today: Cash on delivery and Bank transfer. Each has its own card and its own Save button. Ticking a box does nothing until you press that card's Save button.
Cash on delivery: the customer pays your rider or courier in cash when the parcel arrives.
Bank transfer: the customer transfers the money to your bank account within 48 hours. You record the payment in the order queue, and that confirms the order. If no payment is recorded in time, the order is cancelled and the items go back on sale.
- On the Delivery and payment tab, find the card for the method, for example Cash on delivery.
- Tick Offered at checkout.
- Optionally change the Name shown to customers. Leave it empty to use the standard name.
- Write the Instructions shown to customers. For bank transfer, give your bank, account name and number, and say that the order number is the payment reference.
- For cash on delivery, you can fill Ring the customer before confirming orders above. Orders above this amount wait for you to confirm them. Leave it empty to confirm every cash order automatically.
- Press the card's Save button, for example Save Cash on delivery.
Card payments are not available yet.
