Open your shop and what customers see

Mark the shop ready to sell or closed, and learn what customers see when they browse, order and follow their order.

Who can do this: The owner (administrator role) by default, or anyone whose role has been given permission to manage the online shop.

Open the shop

The status next to the shop shows Not ready, Ready to sell or Closed, and how many products are on sale. The shop cannot be opened while nothing is on sale, no contact is given or no payment method is switched on.

  1. Open Online shop → Shop settings.
  2. Check that "Ready to sell?" shows all five items done.
  3. Press Mark ready to sell.
  4. Read the message and press Mark ready. You will see "Your shop is marked ready".

Close the shop

Closing hides the shop from customers. Nothing is deleted: your products, orders and web address stay, so you can open it again at any time.

  1. Open Online shop → Shop settings.
  2. Press Mark as closed.
  3. Press Mark as closed again to confirm.

What customers see

At the top: your shop name, tagline, and your phone, WhatsApp and e-mail. Customers can search your products and tap a category to narrow the list.

Each product shows its photo, name, category and price. The product page adds the description and item code, and an Add to basket button.

The basket stays at the top of every page. Customers can change quantities or remove items, then press Checkout.

Your About the shop text and your Delivery and Returns policies are shown on the shop.

At checkout

The customer gives their name, phone number, an optional e-mail, a delivery address and the delivery country. If they choose collection from the shop, no address is needed.

They choose how they would like to receive it (if you offer delivery options) and how they will pay, then press Place order. The delivery charge is shown in the order summary, and tax is worked out when the order is placed.

If there is not enough stock left, the customer sees "Sorry - there is not enough stock left for that." and no order is placed.

After the order is placed

The customer sees "Order placed" with the order number and a link. They should keep that link, because it is the only way back to their order.

The order page shows the status, what has happened so far, the items and the total. For bank transfer it shows your instructions, the order number to use as the payment reference, and the time by which they must pay.

The customer is also saved to your customer list, matched by phone number.
