Two parts, one login
The back office is where you manage the business: products, stock, purchasing, finance, staff and settings. It works on a PC, a laptop, a tablet or a phone.
The register (POS) is the till. It is built for a touch screen at the counter, and it keeps selling when the internet goes down. Sales made offline are sent to the server when the connection comes back.
Both use the same login. What you see in each depends on your role.
Open the register
- On the Dashboard press "Open register", or open the Point of sale group in the menu and choose "Open register".
- The register opens in its own screen. The first time, choose which register this device is. The device remembers it.
- Open a shift and start selling. The Point of sale articles in this help centre explain the till step by step.
"Open register" is only shown to people whose role allows selling. Registers themselves are created under Point of sale → Registers.
Install the register on a tablet or PC
The register can be installed like an app. It then opens full screen from its own icon, without the browser's address bar.
- On the counter device, sign in and open the register.
- On Android or a PC with Chrome or Edge, open the browser menu and choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" (the wording depends on the browser).
- On an iPad, tap the Share button in Safari and choose "Add to Home Screen".
- Open the register from the new icon from now on.
Open the register once while you are online, so the device keeps a copy of the catalogue and the app for offline use.
Shared tills and staff PINs
Several cashiers can share one register. An administrator gives each person a till PIN under Settings → Users (the "Till PIN" button). On the register, a cashier taps their name and types the PIN, so each sale is recorded under the right person, even offline.
Staff who only use My space
People with only the Employee role do not see the business dashboard. They land in People → My space, where they see their own shifts, leave and payslips.
