How prices are kept
Selling prices live in price lists, not on the product. Each price list has a currency, for example LKR, and a price for each variant.
One list is marked Default. The POS registers use the default list. Most shops need only this one list. You might add a second list for a different shop or for a special season.
The cost you enter on a variant is your purchase cost. It is separate from the selling price.
Create a price list
- Open Catalog → Price lists and click New price list.
- Type the Name, for example Retail.
- Type the Currency as a 3-letter code, for example LKR.
- If the list is only for a period, set Valid from and Valid to. Leave them empty for a list that is always valid.
- Tick Default price list (used by POS registers) if the tills should use this list.
- Click Create price list.
Enter many prices at once
- In Catalog → Price lists, click the price list. A window opens with one row per active variant.
- Type in Filter products… to find the items you want.
- The Current column shows today's price. Type the new price in the New price column.
- Press Enter or click Save on that row. Each row is saved on its own.
You can also set a single price from the product window (Catalog → Products, open the product, click Set or Edit in the Price column), or load prices with a CSV import.
Change or archive a price list
Click Edit on a price list row to change its name, currency, dates or default setting. Click Archive to stop using it. Registers that used an archived list fall back to the default list.
