Add a pack
- Open Catalogue → Products and open the product, for example Water 1L.
- Under Packs and sets, click Add a pack.
- In How many in one pack, type 6 for a 6-pack (12 for a dozen).
- Type the pack's selling price and, if the wrapper has one, its barcode. The name is "Pack of 6" unless you type another.
- Click Add the pack. It appears on the till as its own item.
Selling one pack takes six pieces from stock. Stock on hand, counts and purchase orders stay in pieces.
Make a gift set or hamper
- Add the set as a new product (Catalogue → Products → New product), with its price.
- Open it and, under Packs and sets, click What is inside.
- Search each thing that goes in and type how many, for example 1 tea and 1 mug.
- Click Save. Selling the set takes what is inside from stock.
To make it an ordinary item again, open What is inside and remove everything.
What happens when you sell one
The receipt shows the pack or set with its price, as sold. Stock goes down for the pieces inside it, and its cost is what the pieces cost.
A void or a return puts the pieces back on the shelf. The online shop sells packs and sets the same way.
On the till, a pack's tile shows how many can be made from the pieces in stock.
Good to know
Only items that track stock can go inside, and a pack cannot hold another pack: put its pieces in instead.
Changing what a set contains affects sales from then on. Past sales keep what they took.
