Install Sevo on your tablet, phone or computer

Open the till, tap ☰ then Install app. That's it. Sevo then opens from its own icon, full screen, and keeps working offline. No app store needed. Steps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.

Who can do this: Anyone who uses Sevo on a device. Do it once on each till tablet, phone or computer.

Why install it

Sevo works in the browser, and it also installs like an app. There is no app store and nothing to pay. Install it on every device you sell on.

Full screen: no address bar and no tabs, so the till gets the whole screen.

It opens like an app: from its own icon on the Home Screen, the Start menu, the taskbar or the Dock.

It keeps working offline: the till opens and sells even with no internet.

It keeps its offline data: Safari on an iPad or iPhone may clear a website's saved data after 7 days without use. An installed app keeps it, so sales waiting to be sent and the product list stay on the device.

The quick way: Install app in the menu

In the back office the same Install app button is at the bottom of the menu on the left.

  1. Open the till. In the back office, go to POS → Open register.
  2. Tap ☰ at the top right to open the Register menu.
  3. Tap Install app, at the top of the menu.
  4. On Chrome or Edge (Android, Windows or Mac) the browser asks to install Sevo. Tap Install. That's it.
  5. On an iPad, an iPhone or Safari on a Mac, a short guide opens with the steps below.

Install app is not shown once Sevo is installed and opened from its icon.

iPad or iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open Sevo in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up). On an iPad it is at the top right, on an iPhone at the bottom.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The Sevo icon appears on the Home Screen.
  5. Open Sevo from the new icon.

On an iPad or iPhone the installed app keeps its own data, apart from Safari. Before you switch, check that the sync chip says Online, so no sales are left waiting in Safari. Then sign in once in the app and choose the register while the internet is on.

Android tablet or phone (Chrome)

  1. Open Sevo in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu ⋮ at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app. On some phones it says Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap Install. The Sevo icon appears with your other apps.

Windows or Mac computer (Edge or Chrome)

Microsoft Edge comes with Windows. Edge and Google Chrome both install Sevo in one click.

  1. Open Sevo in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
  3. No icon? Open the browser menu. In Edge choose Apps, then Install this site as an app. In Chrome choose Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.
  4. Click Install. Sevo opens in its own window, without tabs or an address bar, with an icon in the Start menu (Windows) or the Dock (Mac).

On the till computer, right-click the Sevo icon on the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar, so staff open it with one click.

Mac with Safari

  1. Open Sevo in Safari (Safari 17 or later).
  2. Choose File, then Add to Dock.
  3. Click Add. Sevo appears in the Dock.

Firefox

Firefox cannot install Sevo as an app on a computer. Open Sevo in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and install it from there.

After installing

From now on, open Sevo from its icon, not from a browser tab. It opens on the till. The back office is in the Register menu.

The first time, sign in and let the products load while the internet is on. After that the till opens and sells without internet.

To remove Sevo, delete its icon like any other app. First check that the sync chip says Online, because sales not yet sent may be lost with it.
