Taking payment: cash, card, wallet, voucher and split

Use the payment screen to take cash with change, card, wallet or QR payments and vouchers, or split one bill between several methods.

Who can do this: Anyone who can sell

Open the payment screen

Tap Pay under the cart (or press F4). The payment screen fills the till: the methods and a number pad on one side, the amount due in large figures on the other. Tap Back to order (or press Esc) to go back and change the order.

The methods are Cash, Card, Wallet / QR and Voucher.

Take cash

  1. Cash is selected when the screen opens.
  2. Enter the cash the customer hands over. Tap the note buttons (+100, +500, +1,000, +5,000 for rupees) to add each note, type the amount, or tap Exact for the exact amount.
  3. The screen shows the Change as you enter it.
  4. Tap Take Cash … to record it.
  5. When the bill is covered, the screen shows Change to give in large figures. Hand over the change.
  6. Tap Complete sale.

Take card, wallet or voucher

  1. Tap Card, Wallet / QR or Voucher.
  2. The amount starts at the balance due. Type a smaller amount if only part of the bill is paid this way.
  3. Optionally type the Reference, such as the card terminal's authorisation code or the transaction id.
  4. Tap Take Card … (or the method you chose).
  5. When the bill is covered, tap Complete sale.

Sevo records the payment; it does not charge the card itself. Take the card payment on your bank's card terminal first, then record it here.

Split a bill

  1. Take the first part, for example Card for LKR 2,000.
  2. The due amount goes down. Choose the next method, for example Cash, and take the rest.
  3. Each payment is listed under Payments taken. Tap the ✕ next to one to remove it if you made a mistake.
  4. When the screen says Paid in full or Change to give, tap Complete sale.

After Complete sale

The sale is saved on the device first and then sent to the server, so completing a sale never waits for the internet. The Sale complete screen opens with the receipt. See Receipts: print, PDF and e-receipt.
