Set up clock-in PINs
The time clock appears in the register menu once at least one person can clock in. A manager sets clock-in PINs on each employee's record under People → Employees, in the Time clock part of the record.
A clock-in PIN is 4 to 6 digits, not repeated or in sequence. It is shown only once when it is set, so give it to the person straight away. An employee who is linked to a user with a till PIN can clock in with their cashier PIN until they have one of their own.
Clock in or out
- Open the register menu (the menu button at the right of the top bar) and tap Time clock.
- Tap your name. The list shows whether each person is Not clocked in or In since a time. People of this store come first; with a long list, use Find your name.
- Type your PIN and confirm.
- Tap Clock in or Clock out.
- A message confirms, for example Nimal clocked in at 08:58.
Tap Not you? Choose again if you picked the wrong name.
Offline and wrong PINs
The PIN is checked on the device and the clock event is saved on the device first, so the time clock works without internet. The server records the event once when the connection returns.
After several wrong PINs the pad pauses for a short time and shows how many seconds to wait.
If the list says Nobody can clock in yet, no one has a clock-in PIN; ask a manager to set them under People → Employees.
